Road Tripping With Dad

Each of the kids have had a turn going on a job with Brian this summer. The kids have had so much fun spending a little one on one time with Dad plus getting to do a little sightseeing. And Dad spoils them when they go with him!

Sara was so excited for me to get the film developed from their trip so I could see her pictures. Brian said that she was so nervous to lift open the lid to the baby rattlers.

Then it turned out to be baby rattlers. Literally. Not snakes like she thought.

Wyatt & Dad

Wyatt must have been bored!

Soccer

I really enjoyed soccer this year. The kids were a lot more aggressive and competitive. I can't believe how much they improved from last year. Here is some of my favorites from the year.

This picture makes me laugh.
Check out Stephanie's facial expression!

A New Front Door

I started this post clear back in April and I'm finally getting around to finishing it. Back in March we decided something needed to be done about the front door. Replacing it was not an option so we decided to fill in the cracks with some wood filler and paint the door. What was supposed to be a quick project turned into a long drawn out project!

Paint got spilled on the carpet that was covering the concrete. So we ended up ripping up the carpet. Then we were left with the ugly yellow adhesive.

So then we had to strip the adhesive which took quite a while and we had to do it a couple of times to get it all removed. Then we decided since we were already painting we might as well paint the railing and the trim around the porch. After all that, we finally got the concrete painted to cover up the adhesive that we couldn't remove.

Even though it ended up being a lot of work and took a lot longer than anticipated, it was worth it because it updated the look of the house.

Wyatt's 9th Birthday

Wyatt has been so excited for his birthday this year. One day I was looking on Pinterest and came across a link to Lego birthday party ideas. As soon as I seen it I just knew I had to do a Lego themed party for Wyatt. He loves Lego's. In fact he loves anything that he can take apart and put back together like K'Nex, Lincoln Logs, Transformers and Magnetics. He could spend hours playing with these things.

I got all the kids Lego car kits to put together and then they got to race them.

Then we played a game where all the kids had Lego's on a plate and they had to use a straw to suck the Lego to the straw and move it from the plate to the table. Whoever moved the most in one minute won. This game was pretty fun and they played it several times. They started to get creative and were stacking the Lego's so that they were able to move more Lego's at one time.

We had a Lego relay race with a spoon. The kids were split in to two teams and each team was given a cup full of Lego's and an empty cup. They had to get as many Lego's to the empty cup as they could using their spoon.

What's a party without Pin the Head on the Donkey or should I say Pin the Head on Legoman!

Then we had cupcakes and treats then we did the pinata!

After Wyatt's friend party we had our family and good friends the Coon's over to celebrate Wyatt's and Brian's birthdays.

This gun that was from Grandpa Von was his favorite!

I think this will be a birthday that he will remember for a long time!

Easter

We had a great Easter weekend.
Brian and I celebrated our 15th anniversary!
We colored eggs.
We went on a picnic with the McConkie's.
We had a barbecue with my family.
The kids had their annual Easter egg hunt.
And they flew kites with no wind!
What? No wind on Easter?
